Terms of service

Last updated 29 August 2026. These terms cover your use of facewrap.lol and any bid you place on it. Place a bid and you are agreeing to them.

Who runs this

facewrap.lol is run by a private individual based in Buckinghamshire, England. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Alpine, Renault or X Corp. Alpine and A290 are trademarks of their owner and are used here only to describe the car.

Using the site

You must be eighteen or over to bid. You need an X account, and you must be the person that account belongs to. Bidding as someone else, or with a profile you do not control, voids the bid.

We may remove a bid, refuse a bidder or end the auction early if a bid is fraudulent, if the profile is impersonating somebody, or if the imagery would be unlawful, hateful or obscene on the side of a car driven on public roads. That judgement sits with us and it is final.

Posting to X

If you sign in with X we ask for permission to post on your behalf. We only ever use it when you have written or approved the wording yourself and pressed the post button. Nothing is posted automatically, and you can revoke our access at any time in your X settings under Connected accounts.

The bidding terms

These are the same terms you accept in the bidding window, repeated here in full.

These are the terms you are agreeing to when you place a bid on facewrap.lol. Read them properly. A bid is a binding offer, not a bit of fun.

1. Who is bidding

You confirm you are at least 18 years old, that the X account you signed in with is yours, and that you are bidding as yourself. If you are bidding on behalf of somebody else you confirm you have their permission to use their face, name and handle.

2. A bid is a binding offer

Each bid is an irrevocable offer to buy the sponsorship described on this page. Bids cannot be withdrawn or reduced once placed. No payment is taken at the time of bidding.

3. The reserve

The reserve is £50,000. If the auction never passes the reserve, no contract is formed and nobody owes anything. Once bidding passes the reserve, an eight hour countdown starts and resets with every new leading bid. When it reaches zero the highest bid wins.

4. Payment if you win

The winning bidder must pay the full bid amount by bank transfer to a UK bank account within five days of the auction closing. If you pay in another currency you must send enough for the correct sterling amount to clear after bank charges. Late or short payment means the offer may be passed to the next highest bidder and your details may be published.

5. What you get

Your face is applied by a professional wrap installer to an Alpine A290, tiled across the panels with one large portrait on the door and your name and X handle printed underneath, and it stays on the car for three years from the date it is wrapped. You are also shown on this site as the winner and included in the press push described on this page. Normal wear, fading, accident damage and repairs are part of life on the road.

6. Your image and licence

By bidding you grant permission to display your profile photograph, display name and X handle on the car, on this website and in press and social material about the campaign. You confirm you hold the rights to the photograph on your X profile, and the final artwork is signed off with you before anything is printed.

7. Right to refuse

Bids carrying imagery or handles that are adult, hateful, illegal or otherwise unsuitable may be cancelled at any time. Obvious spoof, impersonation or fraudulent bids will be removed.

8. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

Liability

The site is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be available without interruption, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit or lost publicity. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury or fraud, because the law does not allow that.
